Winter Stay Guidelines at NOT A HOTEL MINAKAMI
NOT A HOTEL MINAKAMI is located in an area with heavy snowfall during the winter season (December to April).
To ensure a safe and comfortable stay, please be sure to review the following information.
1. Clothing and Gear
From December to April, average temperatures typically fall below freezing. Please dress warmly.
Roads may freeze and become slippery, especially in the mornings and evenings. Avoid wearing heels and bring shoes suitable for walking.
There have been cases where guests leave their smartphones in the house or forget their PIN code, resulting in being locked out.
Always carry the device with the shared key or make sure to note the PIN code before heading out in warm clothing.
2. For Guests Arriving by Car
Vehicle Equipment
There may be risks of freezing and snowfall from late November onward.
As the area around the facility includes many mountain roads and slopes, please be sure to use studless tires or tire chains.
*4WD vehicles are recommended.
If you are not confident in driving, please consider taking a taxi from Karuizawa Station.
Car Troubles on Snowy Roads
Snowy and icy roads can be more slippery than expected. Please drive with caution.
In the event of getting stuck or an accident, we ask that you arrange for roadside assistance directly.
If you need help, feel free to contact us through the app’s concierge feature—we’ll support you as much as possible.
3. Snow Removal Operations
When there is heavy snowfall, snow removal will be conducted within the property.
Time : From early morning to sunset
Area : Perimeter roads within the NOT A HOTEL MINAKAMI property and some areas in front of the house
Please note that depending on snowfall conditions, snow removal may also occur in the early morning or at night.
Loud noise may occur during operations, and we kindly ask for your understanding as it is necessary for safety.
【Notice Regarding Snow Removal Work】
Snow removal will take place on the slope leading to the property during the following period.
Snow Removal Period: 2025/12/6 to 2026/3/31 from around 9:00 AM
During work, the road may be temporarily inaccessible.
If you plan to depart before 10:30 AM, we will adjust the snow removal schedule—please notify us by 5:00 PM the day before.
Driving conditions may also become difficult depending on snowfall.
We recommend allowing extra travel time when going out.
4. Use of Parking Area
Snow removal will also be conducted on the road in front of the house.
When parking, please be sure to use the covered parking space under the eaves.
To avoid obstructing snowplow operations, do not park on the road.
5. Restricted Terrace Areas Due to Snow Falling from the Roof
During snowfall, there is a risk of snow falling from the roof and slipping, so the BBQ area is off-limits.
Please also exercise caution in areas outside the restricted zones.
